This is Makena Beach - the wedding beach - in Maui, and these colors are exactly what I saw that evening. The burst of color lasted just about ten seconds and then it was gone. Every day the beach has brides and photographers, just because it is so beautiful. When I first got there, there were three brides and their grooms being photographed, and the day this photo was shot there were two weddings that had just finished.

Rainbow bridge in the crater of Haleakalah. Everything in this crater was created through the violence of the volcano, and the result is at once rugged and ethereal.

Looking out over Maui in the morning from Mount Haleakalah National Park. The sun appears from under the cloud cover, and thousands gather each morning to watch it rise above the clouds. It is an unforgettable experience. This looks out over the mountain, and in the upper right corner is the big island - Hawaii
